The Real Cost

The DiveCaddy Travel Bag System was designed as a carry-on bag. Most competitors’ bag systems require the checking of at least one bag, generating checked/extra baggage fees each way of travel. The average airline second checked bag fee is $50 (each way). A second checked bag on Delta Airlines that is over 50 lbs can cost up to $100 each way.

Competitor pricing and bag information acquired from a recent Scuba Diving Magazine Comparison.

Lost, Pilfered and Damaged

The DiveCaddy Travel Bag System is cheap insurance and great peace of mind for many of the misfortunes your checked bags can encounter while traveling. It is our goal to help keep your gear in your possession (at all times) and avoid checked bag fees.

According to the United States Department of Transportation over 840,000 reports of lost, damaged, delayed or pilfered baggage were made between November 2008 and February 2009.

Over 30,000,000 bags are delayed or lost each year according to a recent newsoxy.com article (04/09). The article also notes that after 2 days of trying to locate the owners of “lost bags” the airlines ship them to a 40,000 square foot facility in Scottsboro, Alabama for one last chance to find the owner via an electronic tracer program. After 90 days the bags are sold at auction.
